GROWTH-HORMONE PEPTIDES / SIDE-BY-SIDE

# Same hormone system. Different questions.

Compare growth-hormone peptides: short chains of protein building blocks linked to hormone signals. See what each is, where the evidence stops and what needs medical review. This is a reading aid, with no ranking or personal recommendations.

NXT LVL / FIELD NOTES Evidence before expectations

## Read the columns as questions.

A secretagogue prompts a gland to release a hormone. These peptides use signals linked to growth hormone, made by the pituitary gland beneath the brain. They are not growth hormone itself. The shared pathway does not give them the same evidence or legal status.

Compounded means prepared to order. FDA, the U.S. drug regulator, has not approved compounded medicines. The pharmacy's ingredient rules apply separately from a provider's decision about a person.

## The field notes.

### CJC-1295

What it is

A lab-made copy of the brain's growth-hormone signal. DAC is an added chemical part; forms with it and without it are different ingredients.

Where the evidence stands

Small studies in healthy adults appear to use the DAC form. No FDA approval. Current routine raw-ingredient compounding requirements are not met.

Question for review

Which exact form is named, and does the evidence match it?

[Read the CJC-1295 note](/cjc-1295/)

### Ipamorelin

What it is

A lab-made peptide using the signal pathway for ghrelin, a hormone linked to hunger.

Where the evidence stands

Published human studies involved healthy men or bowel-surgery patients. No FDA approval. Current routine raw-ingredient compounding requirements are not met.

Question for review

What human evidence addresses the proposed use, and what are the ingredient barriers?

### CJC-1295 + ipamorelin

What it is

A pairing of two separate hormone signals.

Where the evidence stands

The pair is not FDA-approved. Single-ingredient research does not establish training results or safety for the combination.

Question for review

Which CJC-1295 form is included, and what evidence actually studied the pair?

[Read the CJC-1295 + ipamorelin note](/cjc1295-ipamorelin/)

### Sermorelin

What it is

A short lab-made copy of part of the brain's growth-hormone signal.

Where the evidence stands

The earlier approved products are discontinued. Versions prepared to order are not FDA-approved. Adult studies were small and short.

Question for review

What is the intended use, and what evidence supports it for this person?

[Read the Sermorelin note](/sermorelin/)

### Tesamorelin

What it is

A lab-made version of that brain signal with an added chemical part.

Where the evidence stands

An approved product has a specific use in adults with HIV, a virus that affects the immune system, and a related body-fat disorder. Compounded versions are not FDA-approved. Special federal rules also prevent pharmacies from making their own copies of tesamorelin.

Question for review

Is this finished product FDA-approved for the person's medical condition?

[Read the Tesamorelin note](/tesamorelin/)

## Tesamorelin + ipamorelin.

This name describes a combination, not the approved tesamorelin product. Approval of a single finished medicine does not extend to a blend with another peptide. Ipamorelin adds its own evidence gaps and FDA safety concerns.

Promise lists these options for provider review. A licensed U.S. provider decides whether to prescribe. The listing does not change FDA status or the rules for the exact ingredient.

The pairing has no established approval through tesamorelin's single-product approval.

Promise lists tesamorelin + ipamorelin. A licensed U.S. provider decides; not everyone qualifies. FDA still lists ipamorelin acetate in Category 2, its safety-concern group, for 503B only: larger compounding facilities. This is not a 503A Category 2 listing.

## FDA groups need the full context.

FDA's page current as of April 22, 2026 lists CJC-1295 among withdrawn nominations. It lists ipamorelin acetate both there and in Category 2, a safety-concern group for larger compounding facilities. A withdrawn nomination is not clearance, and FDA gives no individual withdrawal dates.

A page on a commercial website cannot change those facts. The beginner questions explain the difference between a product listing, a prescription decision and lawful pharmacy preparation.

## What FDA's safety concerns include.

### CJC-1295

FDA reports serious reactions linked to CJC-1295, including a faster heart rate and flushing. It also notes dizziness and low blood pressure. FDA warns that the immune system may react to the peptide.

### Ipamorelin

FDA is concerned that injected ipamorelin could trigger an immune reaction. No human study has checked its safety when injected under the skin.

In a study that gave ipamorelin into a vein, two patients died after complications of cancer surgery. FDA says it is unclear whether ipamorelin played a part.
